Reumo

The Institute of Advanced Studies in Environmental Management (IEAGA) is an association specializing in socio-environmental governance. IEAGA has developed several water safety plans (WSPs) across various Brazilian states, employing techniques that combine risk analysis and the definition of critical control points. The projects were executed by a team of professionals from diverse fields, in collaboration with water distribution companies. To develop the WSPs, meetings were held with multidisciplinary teams, collaborators, and consultants, while environmental and social compliance audits (due diligence) were conducted. Procedures and control measures were devised for all identified risks and integrated into the company's management system. The outcomes of these efforts demonstrate the creation of an effective management tool for controlling risks associated with the processes of water capture, treatment, and distribution in the studied water supply systems.
