Introdução
The world faces complexity and uncertainty, with challenges that go beyond economic crises. This text explores the intersection of the Creative Economy and Sustainable Entrepreneurship as a resilient response. The central question is how the innovative nature of the Creative Economy can be key to the success of impact-driven enterprises. Supported by intellectual and cultural capital, the Creative Economy generates value in adverse contexts, promoting solutions that unite creativity, sustainability, and impact.
Problema de Pesquisa e Objetivo
The intellectual capital, when combined with green innovation and sustainability, enhances competitiveness and financial performance in micro, small, and medium-sized creative enterprises, strengthening their role as agents of transformation (Gidage; Bhide, 2025). The objective of this study is therefore to analyze how intellectual capital, in times of uncertainty, positions the Creative Economy as a resilient and driving force of sustainable entrepreneurship, while discussing its potential, challenges, and implications for contemporary socioeconomic development.
Fundamentação Teórica
The CE is a developing concept that designates economic sectors whose main inputs are creativity, knowledge, and intellectual capital (Howkins). This approach, rooted in the virtually inexhaustible resource of human creativity, grants the sector significant resilience. This performance underscores intellectual capital as a strategic resource and a sustainable competitive advantage.Sustainable Entrepreneurship is defined as the process of identifying, creating, and exploiting opportunities that reconcile economic development with solutions to environmental and social challenges (Nogueira)
Metodologia
As a theoretical-analytical essay, qualitative in nature, based on bibliographic and documentary review. The research focused on classical and contemporary as Howkins, Elkington, Porter, Serafeim, and Krame—reports from UNESCO,UNCTAD,FIRJAN,Sebrae,BNDES, and public policies like the microcredit initiatives.Consisted of identifying and critically analyzing key concepts, intellectual capital, resilience, innovation, sustainability,ESG,and B-Corp certification.Adopts an exploratory and interpretive perspective, integrating secondary data, theoretical reflections, and practical examples to support.
Análise e Discussão dos Resultados
The CE is resilient to economic crises, such as the recession in Brazil, because it's based on intellectual capital. However, the pandemic exposed its vulnerability to behavioral crises, forcing digitalization. The sector faces challenges in funding and impact measurement. Mechanisms like microcredit and BNDES lines are important but not sufficient. ESG and B-Corp certifications can strengthen market trust.Long-term resilience depends on consistent public policies and cooperation between government, businesses, and society. The convergence of creativity and sustainability.
Considerações Finais
The study shows that the CE, based on intellectual capital, is resilient to instability, as its value is sustained by intangible assets.Sustainable Entrepreneurship amplifies this by combining innovation with socio-environmental responsibility, strengthening businesses that generate both financial returns and positive impact. While challenges like impact measurement and standardized metrics still limit the sector's expansion, the union of creativity and sustainability is a viable strategy. To consolidate this path, consistent public policies, inclusive governance, and robust financial instruments
