Reumo
O artigo reflete sobre as preocupações que adentraram o Século XXI referente a extenuação dos recursos naturais e a relação homem natureza. Dessa forma objetivou discutir sobre a sustentabilidade, angariando mecanismos que possam colaborar com a eficiência do processo sustentável. Neste contexto aborda a temática da sustentabilidade e suas vertentes. Alude sobre a ética ambiental, e o compromisso moral para com as questões ambientais e seres vivos que nos cercam. Vinculada a essas temáticas encontra-se a educação ambiental. A parte conclusiva sintetiza de forma critica as questões abordadas no texto, mostrando que, pensar sustentabilidade não significa apenas olhar para os rios e as plantas, sendo necessário um pensamento macro que englobe o social, educacional e político.

ABSTRACT-
The article reflects on the concerns that entered the XXI Century regarding the exhaustion of natural resources and the relationship between man and nature. In this way, the objective was to discuss sustainability, gathering mechanisms that can collaborate with the efficiency of the sustainable process. In this context it addresses the theme of sustainability and its aspects. It alludes to the environmental ethics, and the moral commitment to the environmental issues and living beings that surround us. Related to these themes is environmental education. The concluding part summarizes in a critical way the questions addressed in the text, showing that thinking sustainability does not only mean looking at rivers and plants, but also requires a macro thinking that encompasses the social, educational and political.
