Resumo

O presente ensaio visa analisar a educação integral no ensino médio no Estado de Pernambuco sob a ótica da inovação social. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo exploratório, conduzido por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica. Os resultados apontam que a educação integral é uma inovação social, tendo em vista que permite a emancipação dos jovens, bem como a transformação social. Uma inovação social é uma linha de ação nova e capaz de responder a uma questão social, a partir da geração de transformação social, passando, assim, a ser adotada em benefício da coletividade, sobretudo, em favor das minorias sociais. Esta pesquisa contribui na medida em que evidencia o potencial decorrente da articulação entre atores com fins de promover a inovação social e, consequentemente, a mudança social. Para futuros estudos, recomenda-se a análise da educação integral no ensino médio em outros Estados sob a ótica da inovação, verificando convergências e/ou divergências.

This essay aims to analyze the integral education in secondary school in state of Pernambuco from the perspective of social innovation. An exploratory study was carried out, conducted through bibliographic research. The results show that integral education is a social innovation, in view of fact that it allows the emancipation of young people, as well as social transformation. A social innovation is a new line of action capable of responding to a social question, starting from the generation of a social transformation, starting to be adopted for the benefit of the society, mainly for the benefit of social minorities. This research contributes by highlighting the importance of articulation between actors in order to promote social innovation and, consequently, social change. For future studies, it is recommended to analyze integral education in secondary education in other states from perspective of social innovation, verifying convergences and/or divergences.
