Resumo

A competitividade e o crescente dinamismo observados no mundo globalizado trazem diversas oportunidades, mas, também, muitos desafios para a humanidade. A busca pela harmonização entre homem e planeta torna-se, crescentemente, tema de discussão em diversas agendas pela urgência em se encontrar meios de fazer com que os indivíduos entendam e aprendam a viver com o necessário pois os excessos serão, em algum tempo, ressentidos pelas gerações futuras. Dividido em três seções, neste estudo, a primeira delas introduz o trabalho realizando uma breve correlação entre a crise ambiental e as práticas sociais decorrentes de uma cultura baseada no consumismo. Na segunda parte, inicia-se, então, o levantamento teórico, dividido em três subtemas, onde, o primeiro, mostra o conceito de desenvolvimento sustentável e de como a palavra sustentabilidade tornou-se usual e as implicações dessa disseminação e, posteriormente, o segundo e terceiro, como a educação pode ser um instrumento para a ampliação de oportunidades. Por fim, considerou-se que a educação é fator determinante para a formação de um indivíduo que acredite que suas atitudes implicarão em consequências diretas na sua qualidade de vida e das gerações futuras, evidenciando a necessidade da elaboração de um plano político pedagógico que contemple mais do que teorias mas, também, a responsabilidade de formar cidadãos conscientes de seu papel social, de sua responsabilidade ambiental e equilíbrio econômico, comprometidos com uma cultura voltada para o desenvolvimento sustentável.

The competitiveness and the increasing dynamism observed in the globalized world bring many opportunities to humanity, but also many challenges. The search for harmonization between the mankind and the planet has increasingly become the subject to multiple agendas due to the urgency to have individuals understand and learn how to live within their means, considering that any excesses will be, at some point, resented by the future generations. Divided into three sections, the first of which introduces the work performing a brief correlation between the environmental crisis and social practices arising from a culture based on consumerism. Follows in the second part, then starts the theoretical survey, divided into two sub-themes, where the first shows the concept of sustainable development and how the word sustainability has become usual and the implications of this spread and subsequently the second and third, how education can be a tool for the formation of a more sustainable society. Finally, it was felt that education is crucial to the formation of an individual who believes that your actions will lead to direct consequences on their quality of life and future generations factor, highlighting the need to prepare an educational plan that includes more political than theories but also the responsibility of forming citizens aware of their social role, its environmental responsibility and economic balance, committed to a culture focused on sustainable development.
