Resumo

Considerando que o modo de produção capitalista está baseado na exploração do trabalho pelo capital, cujas consequências negativas são o surgimento de desequilíbrios sociais e a destruição da natureza, assim como o fato de que todas as fases de evolução do sistema capitalista, foram marcadas pela criação de racionalidades, que procuraram negar ou tornar menos visíveis seus efeitos indesejáveis, definiu-se como objetivo geral investigar a utilização das categorias desenvolvimento sustentável e economia verde, no processo de legitimação da atual fase e acumulação capitalista na América Latina, bem como, analisar os movimentos de resistência dos povos latino-americanos às políticas de desenvolvimento implementadas pelos governos nacionais da região, nas últimas décadas. Espera-se com essa discussão contribuir com a debate acerca do fenômeno do globalismo, que por meio de suas estratégias representacionais estaria substituindo o tradicional eurocentrismo colonial do século XV, como uma nova forma de dominação do ocidente sobre o planeta; e adicionalmente colaborar com reflexões sobre o pensamento social latino-americano no sentido de questionar o caráter colonial dos conhecimentos produzidos sobre a América Latina.

The capitalist mode of production is based on the exploitation of labor by capital, whose negative consequences are the emergence of social imbalances and the destruction of nature, as well as the fact that all phases of evolution of the capitalist system were marked by the creation of rationalities , who sought to deny or make their undesirable effects less visible. Thus, it was defined as a general objective to investigate the use of the categories sustainable development and green economy, in the process of legitimizing the current phase and capitalist accumulation in Latin America, as well as to analyze the resistance movements of Latin American peoples to development policies implemented by national governments in the region in recent decades. This discussion is expected to contribute to the debate on the phenomenon of globalism, which through its representational strategies would be replacing the traditional colonial Eurocentrism of the 15th century, as a new form of Western domination over the planet; and additionally collaborate with reflections on Latin American social thought in order to question the colonial character of the knowledge produced about Latin America.
